Castaway Cay can look deceptively simple from the client side.
The ship docks. Everyone gets off. There is a beach. Disney takes care of the rest.
And yes, the day can feel wonderfully easy — but that usually happens because the family already knows a few things before they step ashore.
Help clients understand what is included
One of the first things worth explaining is how much of the island experience is already part of the cruise.
Clients can enjoy the family beach, chairs, umbrellas, hammocks, lunch, ice cream, youth spaces, character greetings, nature paths, sports areas, and other included activities without building a complicated excursion plan.
That is helpful because some clients assume they need to reserve or pay for something in order to have a good day.
Explain the choices that do require planning
Other experiences may have an additional cost or limited availability, such as cabanas, equipment rentals, certain water activities, massages, or excursions.
The advisor does not need to tell every family to add extras. The job is to help them understand what exists early enough to decide whether any of those options matter to them.
Talk about the different spaces on the island
Families do not all need the same Castaway Cay day.
Some will want the main family beach and Pelican Plunge. Some parents will want to know how the kids’ spaces work. Couples may be more interested in Serenity Bay. Active families may want bikes or the 5K. Others may simply want a chair, lunch, and a very low-key beach day.
A quick overview before sailing helps clients arrive with a rough idea of what fits them without turning the island into an over-planned itinerary.
Set expectations for the day itself
A few practical tips can make a big difference: what to bring off the ship, how transportation around the island works, when lunch is available, where family and adult areas are located, and what clients should know if they want photos, activities, or rentals.
These are the kinds of details that are easy for an experienced advisor to forget are not obvious to a first-time visitor.

From Penny
Castaway Cay is one of those places where I want clients to feel like they can relax and enjoy the day instead of spending the first hour figuring everything out.
For my own family, the appeal has always been that there really is something for everyone. The kids can have their version of the perfect day, adults can have theirs, and you can still come back together for lunch or beach time.
That is why I like giving clients enough information to make a few decisions ahead of time, but not so much that they feel like they need a minute-by-minute plan for a beach day.
Preparation should make the day feel easier, not busier.
